SHORT FILM: “THERE’S ALWAYS SOMETHING”
In the fall of 2023, musician “meija” hired Redamo Rosa to direct and write a film to promote his second album titled: “There’s Always Something”. Like many album films that came before, the film needed to include a few songs off the album. From the beginning “meija” and Redamo wanted to put story first and the music video aspect, second. How the film plays out is less of an album film and more of an experimental coming of age story. The fun challenge for the team was navigating the balance of both having a narrative through-line and delivering standalone music videos that must work on their own. The final film was screened at the “WHAMMY! Analog Theater” in Silverlake and has been accepted into Hollyshorts Film Festival, Indie Shorts Film Festival and the New York Indie Short Awards.
